English
Back to Courses

For students of average ability, either stream may be acceptable depending upon the student’s interests and future plans. The English 10-1/20-1/30-1 stream is more appropriate for students intending to pursue further academic studies at the university level, while the English 10-2/20-2/30-2 stream is more appropriate for students intending to go to vocational school such as N.A.I.T. or Grant MacEwan, or to seek employment immediately after leaving high school. It is important to note that the general stream may be the most appropriate route for many students. The English 10-1/20-1/30-1 stream presents an analytical study of literature and writing skills. The English 10-2/20-2/30-2 stream presents a more practical study of literature and writing skills. Each stream develops five strands: reading, writing, viewing, speaking and listening.
