Holy Trinity Pi Day 2009

Pi Day was celebrated on March 13 (one day early as 03/14 was a Saturday this year).  Activities included Pi stamps, "Cow pi" candies, a Pi disk scavenger hunt with prizes, special Pi T-shirts and announcements, and the Pi calculation experiment (with 144 students taking part a result of 3.18 was derived...just a bit high!)

Pi Day is a holiday held to celebrate the mathematical constant π (Pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14. (03/14). Pi Day is celebrated in a variety of ways. Parties or other observances may be held by mathematics departments in educational institutions. Enthusiasts also note that the day happens to be Albert Einstein's birthday.
